Pirates have plenty of pitching for upcoming baseball season

By Ellis Knox | reporter@campcounty.now

The Pittsburg Pirates baseball team scrimmaged the New Boston Lions on Feb. 6 at the “Big Green” baseball field for nine innings.
Pirate coach Tommy Stewart got a chance to look at eight pitchers as no game stats and score was kept. One team’s batters would face the opponent’s pitcher each inning.
“We have good pitching depth and we going to be pretty good defensively,” said Stewart. “Just need to get on the same page, but we have a way to go yet, and if the team comes around offensively, which I believe they will, this will be a better team than last year.”
Stewart has at least 10 pitchers who could start and the depth – including a couple of left-handers.
