Pirates lifters take first at home meet

The Pittsburg High Pirates powerlifting team took first place at the home meet on Feb. 16.
Statistically, the Pirates tied with Daingerfield for first, but the Tigers were ranked second because of first and second-place points. 
Seven points is award for first, five for second, three for third, two for fourth and a point for fifth.
The Pirates had four lifter who placed first and three finished second. Daingerfield had three in first, three in second, one third and two in fourth.
Omaha Paul Pewitt was third with 10 points.
First-place finishers for the Pirates were David By (165-pound division) with at total of 1,165, Undra Bates (220) had 1,045, Slade Whitson (242) was first with 1,115 and Cade Rester (super-heavyweight) with 1,095.
Second-place finishers were Braden Jones (198) with 990, Antwon Robertson (220) with 1,035, Coy Rester (275) with 820.
Two Pittsburg High powerlifters are headed to regionals.
By is currently fourth in 165 and Savannah Reynolds is currently second in her respective weight classification.
