Craig

Ricky Murray Craig, 64, of Cookville, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant with Bro. Gib Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Farmers Academy Cemetery.

Mr. Craig was born on Sept. 29, 1950 in Mount Pleasant to W.O. Craig Jr. and Katie Hart Craig. He was a pharmacist. He graduated from the Southwestern School Pharmacy in 1974 and was a member of the North Zone Champs All District Football Team of 1968. He was also an ordained preacher.

Christine Frances Barton Cook passed on to be with the Lord after a brief illness at ETMC Tyler on Feb. 10. Funeral arrangements were set with Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. to honor her memory with love. Officiating was Brother Doyle Rust.

Albright

Dr. Joseph Albright, 88, died Friday, Jan. 23. His Funeral mass was at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 and interment was held at the Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Packer Funeral Home.

He served in the infantry during World War II earning three battle stars and a Purple Heart. During the Korean War, he became an Army Bandleader.

Funeral Services for Imogene Waters, 83, of Pittsburg were held Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg. Officiating was the Rev. Huey C. Jones. Ms. Waters was born March 18, 1932 in Gilmer and died Feb. 2 at Pittsburg Nursing Center in Pittsburg. Interment was held at Zion Hill Cemetery in Gilmer.

Funeral Services for Curlene Turner, of Pittsburg will be held Friday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Beulah C.M.E. Church in Pittsburg. Officiating will be the Rev. L.C. Bell Jr. Ms. Turner was born Dec. 14, 1933 in Leesburg and died Feb. 6 at her home. Interment is at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Pittsburg.

Amanda Rae Higginbotham, 29, of Pittsburg, died Jan. 30, at East Texas Medical Center Tyler. Ms. Higginbotham was born on May 3, 1985 in Pittsburg. Her funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Scott Darby officiating. Interment was held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. Ms. Higginbotham was employed at Pilgrim’s; she graduated from Daingerfield High School. She was a devoted mother and wonderful daughter.

Hurrington

Funeral services for Ruby Lee Hurrington, 83, were held on Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mound Church of God In Christ in Rocky Mound. Officiating was Supt. Melton Timmons.
Mrs. Hurrington was born June 29, 1931 in Pittsburg and died Jan. 27 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Interment was held at North Chapel Cemetery in Pittsburg.

Davis

“Lester” Rex Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed to be with our Lord on Jan. 3. He was preceded in death by his parents Sue and Morris Davis. Mr. Davis was born March 21, 1932 in Pittsburg. He then moved to the Dallas area after graduating from Pittsburg High School. Mr. Davis retired after 34 years of service from Western Electric Co. and pursued many interests and hobbies. He loved the outdoors and traveling this beautiful country. He had been a long time member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice Davis; children: Karen Case and husband Paul, Kyle Davis and wife Dianna, Mike Loftin and wife Gwynn, and one sister Sueann Richardson, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
