Services for William Henry Julian Jr., 88, were held Sunday, Nov. 30 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Packer officiating. Interment was at Leesburg Cemetery. He was born Feb. 13, 1926 in Camp County and died Nov. 28 at East Texas Medical Center Pittsburg.

Harris

Services for Frances Harris, 88, were held Monday, Dec. 1 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Trimble officiating. Interment was in Ryan Cemetery in Ryan, Okla. Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 2, 1926 in Camp County and she died Nov. 29 at her home in Pittsburg. She was a member of the Pine Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of The Surry House Inn for 15 years. Her hobbies were cooking, entertaining and playing 42. She is survived by two sons, Bill and Walker Cole; one daughter, Sue Pilgrim; three grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon R. and Janet Nelson of Grand Prairie; one sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Hubert Pilgrim. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Stevenson and Euna Taylor Stevenson; two husbands, Walker Cole and Jack O. Bowling. Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in Mount Pleasant. Services for Grace Laverne Taft, 85, of Burleson, were held Nov. 10. Interment was in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Mrs. Taft was born Aug. 17, 1929 in Pittsburg to Windell and Annie (Reed) Hood. She died Nov. 4 in Burleson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Taft, four sisters and a brother. Survivors include two daughters and sons-inlaw, Joy Fay and David Williams and Barbara and Mike Comeau, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Doyle Manley, 80, of Pittsburg, passed away on Nov. 12, at his residence in Pittsburg. 
Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Cemetery in Pittsburg with Mike Gravois officiating. Mr. Manley was born on Oct. 10, 1934. He was retired from Lone Star Steel (U.S. Steel) and a member of the Church of Christ.

Hoffman

Funeral services for Charles Louie Hoffman, 77, were held on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Erman Smith Funeral Home. He entered into eternal life on Nov. 9. He was a resident of Shreveport, La. He was born and raised in Pittsburg. He was the beloved son of the late Adele Hughes Hoffman and the late Louie Hoffman. Charles lived life to the fullest, and he loved to travel and especially enjoyed traveling the country in his RV. He relished trips to the west coast and traveling to Europe. He loved to tell a good story; Charles got a kick out of sitting on a balcony facing the ocean during the morning hours while enjoying fresh pastries and fruit. He took great joy in attending the University of Texas (UT) football games. His most memorable moment came when he witnessed UT win the national championship in the Rose Bowl in 2006.

Services for Edna E. Winkle Carson, 100, were held Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Packer and the Rev. Bill Beckham officiating. Mrs. Carson was born on Feb. 7, 1914 in Winnsboro and passed away Nov. 15 at East Texas Medical Center-Pittsburg. Mrs. Carson was a retired high school home economics teacher, a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, and a member of the Supper Club.
Survivors include son, Larry and Lucretia Winkle of McKinney; daughter, Alice Johns of Pittsburg; grandchildren Joe Winkle, Elizabeth Wintters, David Johns, Jennifer Hugo, and Molly Moss; niece, Jo Beth Moore of Corpus Christi; nine great grandchildren; and three greatgreat grandchildren.
