Nancy Kendall Telgemeyer, 58, of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully on March 2 at home, surrounded by her family. She fought a valiant three year battle with cancer. She never let cancer shatter her hope or spirit. Until the end she would tell everyone that she wasn’t giving up. Nancy was born October 30, 1957, in Rockport to George and Pat Kendall. They moved to Gladewater when she was 7 years old. Nancy graduated from Gladewater High School in 1977. She was a stay at home mom until she decided to go to college and get her teaching degree. She graduated from A&M Texarkana, in1998 with a degree in teaching. “Mrs. T,” as she was known by her students, taught 18 years at Pittsburg ISD, where she was loved by everyone. Nancy was an active member of The Northridge Church of Christ for 28 years.

Services for Brenda Hamala, 60, of Winnsboro were held at noon Saturday at the Crossroads Cemetery in Camp County with Bro. Perry Shirley officiating. She died March 2 in Tyler and she was born Feb. 23, 1956 in Beaumont.

Services for Hubert Pilgrim, 90, were heldWednesday, March 9 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Melissa Crawford officiating. He was born Oct. 11, 1925 in Titus County. He died Saturday, March 5, at his home in Pittsburg. Mr. Pilgrim served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and married Edith Harris on March 20, 1949. The couple was married over 66 years. He ran a successful floor refinishing business in Pittsburg for 55 years. He spent his time ranching after his retirement and was a member of the Reeve’s Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Edith Harris Pilgrim; one daughter, Reba Montgomery and husband Ronald; two grandchildren, Toby Montgomery and Kevin Montgomery; two sisters, Christell Newman and Bertha Capps; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Pilgrim and Pearl Storey Sargent; son, Harry Pilgrim; and one brother Aubrey Bassett Pilgrim.

Clifton Ray Kirby, of Pittsburg, passed away at his home Saturday morning, February 27, at the age of 63. Clifton was born Sepetember 27, 1952 in Carrollton, Texas to Marshall Ray Kirby and Melva Maxine Wood Kirby. On November 9, 1991 in Lewisville, Texas he wed the love of his life, Robbie Jane Robinson. Together they would raise two sons, Clay and Michael. Cliff worked as shop manager for the R & R Marine Service Center in Pittsburg. Cliff ’s chief pleasures in life were spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and fishing. He is survived by his wife Robbie Kirby; two sons: Clay Kirby and wife Tristan, of Pittsburg, and Michael Todd Kirby and wife Shena, of Pittsburg; a brother: Ellis B. Kirby and wife Phanel; two nephews: Brian Kirby and wife Ivy, and Andy McFarrin and wife Breanna; along with all of his fishin’ buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Ray and Melva Maxine Kirby and his father-in-law: Robert Robinson.

Services for Annie Fuller, 82, were held at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil Faires o ciating. Interment was in Leesburg Cemetery. Mrs. Fuller was born April 7, 1933 in Schwabach, Germany. She died Friday, Feb. 26 at Southern Wind Manor. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and worked at Erman Smith Funeral Home for 32 years. She was a member of the Greer Blvd. Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Kent Fuller and wife Jenny; four grandchildren, B. J. Fuller, Chris Fuller, Troy Fuller, and Heather Fuller and one great-grandchild Annie Fuller; one sister, Otti and Hauns Liesinger of Meza, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Alvie and her parents Hair and Anni Haaf.

Services for Frankie Joy Law Blackstock, 83, were held Tuesday, March 1 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Keith Graham and Randy Stracener o ciating. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Blackstock was born Feb. 14, 1933 in Winnsboro. She died Friday, Feb. 26 at Heritage Park Village in Mount Pleasant. A graduate of Pittsburg High School, she attended cosmetology school and worked as a beautician for several years. She was also a certi ed nurse’s aide, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Reggie Blackstock and wife Linda, Randy Blackstock and wife Missy and Rusty Blackstock and wife Cathy. She had four grandchildren, Matt Blackstock and wife Courtney, Chase Blackstock, Caleb Blackstock and Callie Blackstock; two step-grandchildren, Valerie Lewis and Todd Lewis; great grandchild Aeryn Blackstock and numerous nieces and nephews.

Floyd D. Hall of Talco passed away Friday, Feb. 19, at 75 years of age. He was born in Titus County to Elva D. and Dovie Marie (Cooper) Hall on Feb. 15, 1941. Mr. Hall was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Talco and a truck driver. He leaves his children, Deany and Angela Hall of Richardson, John David Hall of Granbury, Jeffrey Hall of Waco, David Miles and Adam Miles of Mount Pleasant, Samantha Hall of Hico, Laura Marie Hall and Amanda Parker of Pittsburg; and five grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Talco. Interment will follow at the Winfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Toni “Nona” Hawkins Combest was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, Feb. 21 at the age of 73. Mrs. Combest was born Jan. 20, 1943 in Red River County to William Earl Hawkins and Lucille York Hawkins Childers. She graduated high school in Longview and attended both North East Texas Community College and East Texas State University before embarking on a career as a teacher, spending 13 years at the Pittsburg Independent School District, and also working as a real estate agent in Longview and Pittsburg for several years. Toni married the love of her life, Hershel Preston Combest on March 5, 1960. During their 48 years of marriage they would laugh, love and raise four children: Clint, Melanie, Stacey, and Amber. Toni was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother. She was a devout Christian and long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Young at Heart seniors group. Mrs. Combest was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Services for Earnest Carl Mayberry, 89, were held Feb. 9 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Larry Black officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery. Mr. Mayberry was born in Bandera County on Aug. 22, 1926. He died Saturday, Feb. 6 at Pittsburg Nursing Center. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served in the United States Army during World War II and worked as a truck driver and farmer and rancher. He is survived by two daughters, Carlotta and husband Tom Kimbrough and Loretta Sue Beard; four grandchildren Luke Kimbrough, Matt Kimbrough, Carl Beard, Carrie Beard Hefner; four great-grandchildren Jacob and Caleb Kimbrough, Andrew Hefner and Jeron Quiros.

Services for Donna Sullivan, 52, were held at New Mine Cemetery with Bro. David Kizer officiating. She was born May 18, 1963 in McKinney and she died Feb. 2 at her home in Mount Vernon.
