Walker

Granville Hodges Walker, Jr. of Pittsburg passed away Friday, May 6 at the age of 75. He was born Dec. 16, 1940 in Madill, Okla. to Granville H. Walker, Jr. and Eula Dell Adams Walker. On Oct. 23, 1960 he married Mary O’Hearn in Sunny Slope, Ariz. During their 55 years of marriage, the couple would laugh, love and raise three children, Vicki, Glenn and Gary. Following a two year stint in the U. S. Army, Granville transferred to the Navy where he spent another four years. During his time in the Navy he worked as a machinist and as an engine mechanic aboard the aircra carrier USS Hancock. He was a devoted husband and father and treasured the time he was able to spend with his family. Although his abilities were limited by a stroke in 2000, he continued to enjoy woodworking, gardening and canning with his wife Mary. Mr. Walker is survived by the love of his life, Mary, a daughter Vicki reatt and husband Tony; son Gary H.

Clifford Earl Allen died May 11 at the Clairmont Nursing Home in Tyler and was buried in Rocky Mound Cemetery in Rocky Mound. He was born in Gilmer May 21, 1957.

Rozell

Services for Terry John Rozell, 65, were held May 12 at Bethel Cemetery in Franklin County with Gene Lee o ciating. Mr. Rozell was born May 15, 1950 in Borger. He died Tuesday, May 10 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He served in the U. S. Army for six years from 1969 to 1975. He also had a passion for motocycles, especially Harley-Davidsons and enjoyed riding his black 1947 Nucklehead for many years. Survivors include his wife Sherry; two sons, James Terry Rozell and wife Lisa of Paris and Harley Rozell of Pittsburg; one daughter, Krystal Yandle and husband Aaron of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; one brother Tommy Rozell and wife Teri of Pittsburg; brother-in-law, Jesse Garcia. Pallbearers were Chris Rozell, Brandon Newman, Carl Rozell, Tony Rozell, Rodey Jack Landers, Ty McPhearson, Larry Caviness and Mark Harrison. Marshall

Robert Wayne “Blackjack” Marshall of Pittsburg passed away Wednesday, May 4 at the age of 72 surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 6, 1944 in Pittsburg to Robert Weldon Marshall and Edna Muriel Marshall. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Seven Points, Texas. When he began his fight with cancer he returned to Pittsburg to be close to family. Although he was unable to attend, he met frequently with his friend and local pastor, Rockie Simpler who is connected with the Circle C Cowboy Church in Mt Pleasant.

Services for Randall “Randy” Burke, 60, were held Saturday, April 23 with the Rev. Jim Rawlins officiating. Interment was in Crossroads Cemetery. He was born Feb. 12, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio. He died Wednesday, April 20 at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg. He received his Master’s of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University in 1987. He was an ordained minister of the First Christian Church and pastored in Mount Pleasant. Lincolnton, N. C., Houston, East Chesterfield/ Winameg Parish, Delta, Ohio and Hennessey, Okla. He was a 32 Degree Master Mason and a member of the Coronado Lodge #56 in Hennessey, Okla. and the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. He enjoyed riding around Walmart on his scooter, visiting with people and always looked forward to Sunday lunch with his family.

Services for Jennifer Deanne Vandenberg, 38, were held in Mount Pleasant Wednesday, April 27 at 10. She was born in Sulphur Springs on Nov. 16, 1977. She died Saturday, April 24 after a motorcycle accident in Texarkana.

Services for Victoria “Tori” Peace, 31, were held Wednesday, April 13, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, April 11 at East Texas Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1984 in Titus County.
