Nichols

A private graveside service for Becky Watson Nichols, 66, of Texarkana was held in Rose Hill Cemetery. She was born May 10, 1950 in Pittsburg and died Tuesday, July 12 at her home in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1968. She is survived by her spouse C. W. Nichols; one son, Casey Lankford; one daughter Christa Lankford Rouse and son-in-law Aaron Rouse; one brother, Je Watson; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents. McNeil

Stephen Wayne McNeil, “Rattle Trap” died away at the age of 45 on Monday, July 11 in Pittsburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with John Wisener, Tim Hullett, and L.C. Terry o ciating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be ursday, July 14 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Stephen was born on Dec. 12, 1970 in Mount Pleasant to David and Glenda McNeil and married his wife April LeAnn Bass on June 9, 1995. Stephen was a truck driver at Cal-Maine and a member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife April LeAnn McNeil, two daughters Whitney and Shelby McNeil, his parents David R. and Glenda McNeil, one brother Keith McNeil and his wife Carrie, one grandchild on the way James Levi Wittebort, and nieces and nephews David Keith McNeil, Cody ompson, Braidon ompson, Montana McNeil, Trevor McNeil, and Shonda McNeil.

Baker

Darwin Earl Baker, 76, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home after being ill for some time. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Elder) Baker, one son, Kyle Baker and his wife, Nancy, of Denton, Texas, and two grandchildren, Aubrey Baker and Cole Baker. He is survived by a brother, Charles Baker and sister-in-law, Beverly Baker, of Joplin, Missouri, a sister, Charolette Trease and brother-in-law, Eddie Trease, of Cassville, Missouri, a mother-in-law, Nadine Elder, of Joplin, Missouri and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Elder, of Gladstone, Missouri. Darwin is preceded in death by his father and mother, Leslie Baker and Ophelia Soos, one brother, Alvin Baker, and one sister, Shirley Sewell. Darwin was born November 5, 1939, in Jasper, Missouri. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1957, and he served 6 years in the National Guard. He attended college in Joplin, Missouri, and Kansas City, and spent several years in banking.

Haywood

Services for Gloria Anne Haywood, 73, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Duane Turner and Bro. Mike Hall officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery. She was born Aug. 27, 1942 in Pittsburg, and she died Monday, July 4 at her home. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and worked for (the late) Dr. James W. Coldsnow for many years. Survivors include her husband: Weldon Haywood of Pittsburg; two daughters, Debbie Smith and her husband Stan of Henderson, Carla and Eric Hopper of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Miranda Smith, Shea Dorman and husband Chet, Matthew Haywood, Brody Hopper, and Erica Hopper; great-grandchildren, Makayla Oliver and Jayda and Jalynn Brown; one brother, Steve McNutt and his wife Connie of Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Elsie Helen White McNutt, a brother and sisterin-law Ronnie and Wanda McNutt.

Kuykendall

Services for Ron Kuykendall, 49, was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Perry Shirley officiating. Interment was in Leesburg Cemetery. He was born July 31, 1966 in Pittsburg. He died Wednesday, July 5 at his home in Beckville. He served in the U.S. Army during the First Persian Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. He is survived by his mother, Deloris Kuykendall; one son, Jeffery Glenn Kuykendall; one daughter, Brenda Lee Kuykendall; two sisters, Teresa Huggins and husband John and Debbie Wallis and husband Tommy; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Travis Kuykendall and a brother James Glenn Kuykendall. Pallbearers were Graham Orr, Wayne Williams, Frank McCoy, John Doubt, Morris Sanders and Jeffery Carter. Honorary pallbearer was James Peavy.

Giblaint

Graveside services, for a former resident of Pittsburg, Billie June Giblaint, 71, from Divide, Colo. were held at noon on Friday, July 8 at Leesburg Cemetery. She was born March 19, 1945 in Prosser, Wash. and died at her home in Colorado June 30. She married John D. Giblaint on Dec. 18, 1966 in Durrant, Okla. and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three sons, Bobby L. Giblaint, Wayne Cannon and Darryl Giblaint; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Wilson Tillman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years John Giblaint; parents, Viola and Arvin Wilson; three sisters, Betty Wilson Cannon, Linda Wilson Lilton, Lillian Wilson Beck, and one brother Robert L. Hawkins

Phillip Ray Hawkins passed away at his home in Pittsburg, ursday June 30, at the age of 78. Mr. Hawkins was born July 27, 1937 in Ft. Worth to Truman Ray Hawkins and Lucille Cra Hawkins. Phillip was a United States Army Veteran who served overseas as a psychiatric nurse and later served as the Red Cross representative for Camp County helping to connect service members with their families during times of need. He also aided in the recovery a er hurricane Camille. Phillip had degrees in Sociology and Psychology and worked as a social worker for the state and later as a social worker for the Pittsburg hospital and nursing homes. He taught school and drove a school bus for Pittsburg I.S.D. and later owned and operated and a convenience store and donut shop. Phillip served as Camp County Judge. He was also an administrator for Camp County’s adult day care. Phillip was a long time member of First Baptist Church Pittsburg, teaching Sunday School and serving as an usher.

Services for Charlsey Norine Cheney McKenna, 76, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, with Dr. Bracy Hill o ciating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. McKenna died Tuesday, June 28 in the Woodlands.

Angeley

Thomas Raymond Angeley, age 63, passed away Thursday, June 2 at his home in Leesburg. Tom was born June 20, 1952 in Muleshoe, Texas to Jerry and Sybil Juanelle Devenport Angeley. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. After his military service he worked for 20 years as the Central Controller at DFW International Airport for the Skyline Automated Train System before retiring in 2007. After his retirement Tom kept himself busy fishing, especially for bass. He also enjoyed going to the ETMCWeight Room and working out, usually with guys half his age. He was a talented musician and gifted singer. Skills he put to use wooing his beloved wife Sherry. On September 5, 1976 he wed Sharon “Sherry” Lee Van Houton. Over the next 39 and a half years they would laugh, love and raise a family.
