By DEBBIE KNOX

Pittsburg administrators and teachers are gaining recognition state wide after an official Texas Education Agency 2017 Distinction Designation Summary report ranks them at the top or number two in campus comparison groups. Some districts around the state have called and asked if PISD would share their successful achievements. Teachers and administrators from sixteen Texas school districts have visited PISD in the last two years.

According to the reports, which are confidential on where the other districts place, Pittsburg top rankings include the campuses of elementary, intermediate, junior high and high school. The Primary campus is not eligible for ranking because they do not give STAAR tests.
