Karen Julian, 55, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday, May 11, at Pittsburg Nursing Center. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 13 at 4 p.m. at Yalla Busha Cemetery with Charles Julian officiating.
 
Mrs. Julian was born on Feb. 18, 1959.

Bobby Joe French, 52, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2014, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. Services were held Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. graveside at the New Mine Cemetery with Bro. David Posey, and New Mine Cemetery officiating.
 
Mr. French was born April 4, 1962 in Pittsburg.
 
He worked as a musician and in construction.
 
He is survived by his wife, Sara French, of Mt. Vernon; one brother Dickie French of Mt. Vernon; two sons: Samuel French of Mt. Vernon, Steven Knight of De- Queen, Ark.; two daughters: Kassidy French of Mt. Vernon, Megan Stephens of Tyler; five grandchildren.
 
Mr. French was preceded in death by his father and two daughters Mindy French and Noel French.
 
Family members received friends, Friday, from 5 to 7p.m. at the funeral home.

Cleo Cash, 98, of Pittsburg, passed away on May 8, at Pittsburg Nursing  Center, services were held May 14 at 11 a.m. at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg. The officiating was the Rev. B. R. Hargest. Interment was at Union Chapel Cemetery in Pittsburg.
 
Mrs. Cash was born March 1, 1916 in Cass County.

Brooks

Richard Brooks, 64, of Pittsburg, passed away on May 10, at his home. Services were held Tuesday, May 13 at 2 p.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doyle Rust and Perry Shirley officiating the service. Interment was at Leesburg Cemetery.
 
Mr. Brooks was born on June 9, 1949. He was a self employed painter and a Baptist.
 
He is survived by his five sisters, Sandra and Doyle Rust of Pittsburg; Debby and Paul Henderson of Pittsburg; Nancy and Jimmy Jordan of Newsome; Diane Rice of Longview; Vickie and Charlie Holt of Longview; two brothers, Danny and Casey Brooks of Pittsburg; Larry and Dorothy Brooks of Burleson; one son Philip Brooks of Leesburg; one daughter, Amanda Brooks of Leesburg; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Mary Evelyn Hooton Brooks; son, Casey Brooks; and brother, Donny Brooks.

Lorene McCormack Bailey, 93, of Newsome, passed away on Saturday May 10, at the Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Winnsboro. Services were held Tuesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Fennel officiating. Internment at Maple Springs Cemetery.
 
Mrs. Bailey was born on June 9, 1920 in Savoy.

Dyar

Birdie Dyar, 91, passed away Monday April, 7 at Pleasant Springs Healthcare facility in Mount Pleasant. Services were held Friday, April 11 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery with David Posey officiating.
Mrs. Dyar was born Feb. 14, 1923 in Hagansport. She was a member of The Church of God.
She is survived by two sisters, Grace French and Bonnie Foster of Pittsburg; two grandchildren, Bill and Sharon McClung of Braselton, Ga., and Kim and Jim Carrigo of Pittsburg; four great grandchildren, Hunter Carrigo, MaRayssa Mc- Coy, Britni Bigbie and Kim Pasqualone; four great-great grandchildren; one great-greatgreat grandchild; one brother –in-law, Earl Hardy of San Antonio; one sister-in-law Viola Turner of Jasper; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for James E. Gilbert, 74, were held Monday, May 5 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mount Pleasant. Interment was in Enoch Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Gilbert died May 1 and he was born July 19, 1939.

Services for Shakena L. Ford were held Saturday, April 26, at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Briggs Jr. officiating. She died April 20. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery. She was born Nov. 27, 1995 in El Dorado, Ark.

Carpenter

Patsy Carpenter, 73, of Pittsburg, passed away on Friday, April 18, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.  Services were held Monday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at the Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating.
Mrs. Carpenter was born on August 26, 1940 in Pittsburg.  She was a Baptist and worked many years at Cozart-Johns Insurance.
She is survived by her husband, Mack Carpenter, of Pittsburg; one son David Carpenter of Pittsburg; one daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Ricky Parker of Pittsburg; six grandchildren, Josh Parker, Allison Waldon, Shelby Rockett, Emily Parker, Alyson Carpenter and Brian Carpenter; five great grandchildren, Peyton, Kyler, Kaden, Natalie and Jace.
Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her parents William Arnold Richardson and Katherine Smith Richardson.
