Gazette sees rack price increase

Gazette Staff Report

Starting next week, with the Aug. 1 issue, the Pittsburg Gazette will cost 75 cents per copy if purchased from the newsstand.
“Many other weekly newspapers across the nation have already raised their price to 75 cents an issue,” Gazette Publisher Debbie Knox said. “We hate to follow their lead, but due to the rising costs in printing and paper costs it was inevitable.”
While single copy prices will increase in cost by one third, the subscription rates will remain the same, $27.50 per year for those living in Camp and surrounding counties.  In-state subscriptions are $38, and all out-of-state prices for a one-year subscription are $46.
The last time the Pittsburg Gazette’s rack sale price increased was in 1989, when it rose from 25 cents to 50 cents.
