Seniors beat juniors in powderpuff game

Pittsburg High School held their annual powderpuff game at Pirate Stadium on May 20. The powderpuff game pits the junior class against the senior class in a match on the gridiron. In a sense, roles are “flipped” for this game because the girls take the field as football players and boys become the cheerleaders. Some of the boys also become coaches for the game and call plays and help with defensive strategies. This year’s contest was a heated one as the seniors beat the juniors in overtime by a score of 14-8. All proceeds from the game went to the Pittsburg High School Class of 2015.
