Kathryn Mae Conley

Kathryn Mae Conley, 81, of Linden died Dec. 18, 2017. Mrs. Conley was born July 4, 1936 in Pittsburg to E.W. Rountree, Sr. and Mable Shaddix Rountree. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec . 21, 2017 at the Linden United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Old Saltillo Methodist Cemetery in Saltillo.

Gladys Bell Greer

Gladys Bell Greer, 97, was born Sept . 16, 1920 in Pittsburg to Samuel George Hughes and Evie Orlu Garrett Hughes and passed away in Weatherford on Dec. 24, 2017 She is survived by her three daughters, Phyllis Eugenia Gaff of Hobbs, NM, Barbara Carolyn Harper of Mineral Wells, and Judy Evelyn Allen of Eunice, NM; four grandchildren, David Allen Schmidt, Barbara Gail Pitchford, Judith Carolyn Dean, and Donald Elton Dingler; one sister, Lawana Kizer Goble of Pittsburg; and ten great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George D. Greer; brothers, C.L. Hughes, Virgil Hughes, Billy Hughes, Carroll Hughes, and Richard Hughes; and one sister Eunice Magahee. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec . 29, 2017 at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg.

Glenda Waters Moore

Glenda Waters Moore, 78, of Pittsburg was born June 7, 1939 in Maud to James N. and Rosa Lee Emerson Waters and passed away December 23, 2017 in Pittsburg. She was a nurse at M&S Hospital in Pittsburg and continued caring for others at East Texas Medical Center Pittsburg and she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church She is survived by her son, Randall Lee of Texarkana; daughters, Laura Perry of Pittsburg and Lesia Perry of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Waters; and sons, Richard Wayne Lee and Jason Ray Moore. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Linda Beth Williams

Linda Beth Williams, age 71, passed away at her home in Pittsburg on Thursday morning, Dec. 21. Linda was born Nov. 1, 1946 in Gilmer to Pete and Edna Mae Johnson. She wed David Williams on Jan . 8, 1963 in Hugo, Okla. Linda was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Nurse for many years. She was also talented oil painter. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Williams; three grandchildren, Courtney Williams, Celsie Williams, and Andrew Martin Williams; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Michelle Williams; a step-sister, Lisa Johnston; and her very special friend Janet Ellison. Linda was preceded in death by her two sons, Clinton “Clint” Williams and Gregory Martin Williams; her parents, Pete and Edna Mae Johnson. Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec . 23, at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Wesley Vandever officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, De c. 22, at the funeral home.

Wayne Burnett, 69, 0f Pittsburg was born April 6, 1948 in M ount Pleasant to Cecil Coy Burnett and Eva Jean Burnett and passed away on Dec . 9, 2017 in Pittsburg . He is survived by many friends that will miss him and cherish the good memories he left them with. He is preceded in death by his parents; Cecil Coy Burnett and Eva Jean Gunn. There are no services scheduled at this time. He will be buried with his parents at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Mt. Pleasant at a later date.

Duvall

Mary Jane Vickers Duvall, 87, passed away in Georgetown on Nov . 26, 2017. She was born on Jan . 27, 1930 in Denison to Horace and Ellie Vickers. She married Martin Duvall III on Sept . 17, 1950 in Leesburg. Martin passed away in on Dec . 22, 2012. Mary was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She was a talented seamstress, tailor, and decorator. While she worked outside her home in a Minneapolis dress shop, a nursing home in Brenham, a florist in Tyler, and as a Hallmark Retail Merchandizer in Georgetown, home was her first love. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Ellie Vickers; brothers Edward and Richard Vickers; sister, Terrie Vickers; and husband Martin Duvall III.

Thompson

Mrs. Clara Thompson, 81, of Pittsburg, Texas was born April 28, 1936 in Altoona, Ala . to Verbon and Flora Couey Wilemon and passed away at her home on Nov . 28, 2017. She was known for her cooking, canning, and for the love she had for her grandchildren. She was also an accomplished crocheter and loved to fish and work in her yard. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Thompson of Pittsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Thompson of Ft. Smith, Ark. And Joey and Liz Thompson of Princeton, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Sarah Thompson, and Jamie Harlow; three great - grandchildren, Shayla Thompson, Addyson Thompson, and Justin Brady Thompson. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jackie Harlow; grandson, Johnny Carl “Chip” Thompson and her brother, Bobby Wilemon. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec . 1, 2017 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Cossey

Charlene Cossey, age 85, passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov . 30, 2017 with her son by her side. She was born March 6, 1932 in Lubbock to Marvin A. Payne and Clara Walters Payne. Shortly after turning 20, she married the love of her life, E.C. “Abe” Cossey in Yuma, Ariz. Abe’s children were three, four, and five years old and she raised them from that day forward, with a Mother’s Love, as her own. Between children, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren, no child was ever turned away. Charlene and Abe celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary shortly before he passed away in April, 2000. Mrs. Cossey was quite active and enjoyed “working in the peaches” at Efurd Orchards here in Pittsburg. Charlene was always on the go and enjoyed walking so much that when she lived on Old Gilmer Highway she would walk South to the Pine community and back to her house.
