Mr. McNeil

Mr. McNeil was born Dec. 17, 1943 in Pittsburg to Rayford and Lois Cooke McNeil and passed away on Jan. 6, 2018 in Longview. He was a baptist and retired from Lone Star Steel. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Bynum McNeil of Pittsburg; son, Charles Keith McNeil and wife Carrie of Pittsburg; eight grandchildren, Whitney McNeil, Shonda Mc- Neil, Shelby McNeil, Trevor McNeil, Dustin McNeil, David Keith McNeil, and Cody and Braidon Thompson; one great - grandchild, James-Wayne Levi Wittebort; daughter - in - laws , Dusty McNeil Whisenhunt. and April McNeil ; one sister, Shirley Thurman and her husband Johnny of Garland. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons, Craig Mc- Neil and Stephen McNeil. Services were held 10 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery in Titus County. Visitation with the family w as held 5 -7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jerrell Wayne Wheat

Jerrell Wayne Wheat, 78, of Cooper, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 in Paris. Services were held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dean Eudy officiating and interment was held in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to services in the chapel. Jerrell was born in Cooper, Texas on April 7, 1939 to Sammy and Mabel Talley Wheat. He was a school bus driver and served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the Pittsburg Rotary Club and the Pittsburg Pirates Football Booster Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Adams Wheat.

Madeline Whitley Smith, of Pittsburg died Wednesday Jan . 3, in Dallas at the age of 90. She was born Feb . 20, 1927 in Wood County . Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan . 6, 2018 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Warrick officiating. A private burial will be held at Macedonia Cemetery.

Stephen Ray Baxter

Stephen Ray Baxter, 69, passed away at home on Jan. 13 after a yearlong battle with stomach cancer. Steve became a tile setter in the Dallas area after he dropped out of school at 16. He continued his trade in the Pittsburg area after he married Beth Ryan Smith in 1991. He was well known for his outgoing personality, willingness to help others, and his work quality and ethics. He was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Steve was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his dad, Raymond Baxter. He’s survived by his wife, Beth; mom, Addiline; stepson, Robert and wife Brandi of Gilmer; daughters, Kelly DeHart of Lindale, Hope Baxter of Denison and Holley Vargas and husband Nacho of Ardmore, OK; brother, Michael and wife Paula; sisters, Debi and Sandi Baxter all of Pittsburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Peggy Ann Tooley

JENKINS -- Services for Peggy Ann Tooley, 73, of Jenkins will be at noon Saturday, Dec . 30, 2017 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Tooley was born Jan. 19, 1944 and passed away Dec .25, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gail Tooley; four daughters, Blinda Skaggs, Angie Young and husband Lane, Sherie Gilmore and husband Chris, Wendy Busch and husband Todd; a brother, Mickey Talley and wife Tina; 12 grandchildren ; two great-grandchildren. Peggy drove a school bus for Daingerfield-Lone Star schools and rarely missed a football game. Glenda Waters Moore

Glenda Waters Moore, 78, of Pittsburg was born June 7, 1939 in Maud to James N. and Rosa Lee Emerson Waters and passed away Dec . 23, 2017 in Pittsburg. She was a nurse at M&S Hospital in Pittsburg and continued caring for others at East Texas Medical Center Pittsburg and she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church She is survived by her son, Randall Lee of Texarkana; daughters, Laura Perry of Pittsburg and Lesia Perry of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents ; brother, Frank Waters; twin sister Linda Gray; and sons, Richard Wayne Lee and Jason Ray Moore. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan . 3, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating.

Seldon Crew Stansbury

Seldon Crew Stansbury, age 94, a resident of Pittsburg, and former resident of Horatio, Ark. died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 in a Pittsburg hospital. He was born to James William and Ethel Clements Stansbury on March 17, 1923 in DeKalb. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was U.S. Post Master in Horatio retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of Williamson Community Church, and enjoyed gardening, cow ranching, fishing, and hunting. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 72 years, Alline Pittman Stansbury; his siblings, Virgil Stansbury, Dewey Stansbury, Veda Pittman, and Marilyn Sewell and a grandson, Brad Stansbury.

Nancy Marie Richards, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 21, in Mount Pleasant at the age of 85. Nancy was born Sep t. 17, 1932 in Garland to Albert Lee Corley and Helen Marie Merriman Corley. In 1953 she wed George Richards. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Richards; four daughters, Georgann Hunt and husband David, Gretchen Trimble and husband Dr. Ted Trimble, Guylyn Peel and husband Jack, and Gina McNeal and husband Melvin.

Roy Betts, of Pittsburg died at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 25, 1938 to Herbert and Mattie Cabbler Betts in DeKalb. He was a member of the Nevills Chapel Baptist Church and he was retired. He is survived by his wife, Marquita Betts; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Annette Betts. Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec.28, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Bates Cooper Sloan Chapel with services to follow at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Nevills Chapel Cemetery. Augusta Mae Harris Parker Daniel

Augusta Mae Harris Parker Daniel, 99, of Pittsburg was born Dec. 3, 1918 in Spokane, Wash. and passed away Dec. 20, 2017 in Pittsburg. She was a member of First Baptist Church, past member of the Lions Club, was a loyal contributor and supporter of the Camp County Senior Citizens Center, and was a nurse for Dr. Robert Pendergrass. She is survived by many loving family members and special friends. Mrs. Daniel was preceded in death by her parents, William Cleveland Dhal and Frances Greenwood Dhal, husbands: Sergeant Edgar Harlton Harris, Harold Parker, and Jess Daniels; and her son, Charles Harris. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family was held between 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Keith Sewell, Paul Sewell, Parker Sewell, Zach Sewell, Larry Shrum, and David Grundish. Donations can be made in Mrs.
