Billie Jean Mertens

Billie Jean Mertens, 85, of Pittsburg went to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 19. Graveside services celebrating Billie’s life were held Feb. 23 at Cross Roads Cemetery in Pittsburg under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Jerry Cook officiating.
Billie was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Pittsburg to Thomas Smith and Alma Bullard Smith. She was raised, attended school, and was a life-long resident of Pittsburg. On Dec. 31, 1950, she married Kenneth Mertens and they had two daughters. Billie was first a homemaker, caring for her family and raising her children. She worked outside the home for many years at several Pittsburg banks. More recently she was columnist for Texas Twister Publications and was author of Recipes of the Heart. Billie was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services for Marguerite K. Quinn, 92, of Pittsburg, were held March 5 at Ebenezer Cemetery with the Rev. David Kizer officiating.
Mrs. Quinn was born March 3, 1921 in Camp County. She died March 4 at Pittsburg Nursing Center.

Services for Burnie Fay Clark, 85, of Gilmer were held Feb. 19 in the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Till Foster officiating. Interment to followed at West Mountain Cemetery.
She was born June 16, 1927, in Upshur County and died Feb. 15 in Longview.

Kathy Lynn Collins

Services for Kathy Lynn Collins, 52, of Pittsburg were held Feb. 24 at the First Baptist Church in Cason with the Rev. Scott Darby officiating. Burial was in Bradfield Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Collins was born March 9, 1960, in Dallas and died Feb. 21 in Longview. She was a devout Christian of a non-denominational faith.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Bernie Mae Barton; husband, Robert Earl Collins; and brothers, Kenny and Harold Barton.
Survivors include her children, Niki, Bobby, David and Haili Collins, all of Pittsburg; brother, Jerry Barton of Naples; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Betty Collins of Pittsburg; and six grandchildren.

Services for Thomas “Big Frank” Johnson, 25, of Lone Star, were held on Feb. 23 at Oak Grove Church of Christ. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born June 25, 1987, in Naples, and he died Feb. 19 at Beacon Hospice/Margaret’s House in Longview.

Services for Raby H. Rogers, 91, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Pittsburg, were held Feb. 23 at Pine Bluff First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with the Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Pittsburg.
Mr. Rogers was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Pittsburg and died Feb. 11 at Los Angeles.

Robert Joe Stanley

Services for Robert Joe Stanley, 61, of Pittsburg, were held on Feb. 15 at the Assembly of God Church in Pittsburg with the Rev. Joe McCrary officiating.
Mr. Stanley was born Nov. 17, 1951, in Upshur County to Dorothy F. Stanley of Pittsburg and the late Alton Jackson Stanley. He died Feb. 10 at East Texas Medical Center Pittsburg. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife, Paulette Kerr Stanley of Pittsburg; his mother; children, Christia Garrett of Pittsburg, Robert Stanley of Pittsburg, Regina Sorrells of Gilmer, Peter Stanley of Pittsburg, Melaney Wharton of Naples, Laura Stanley of Gilmer, Maggie Stanley of Pittsburg and Mary Irvin of Pittsburg; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Eddie Stanley of Cason and Willie Stanley of Pittsburg; and sister, Rebecca Ellison of Cason.
