Hubert B. Carpenter

Services for Hubert B. Carpenter, 91, of Pittsburg were held Saturday, Jan. 4, 1 p.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Tim Parker officiated the service and interment was held at New Mine Cemetery. Mr. Carpenter died Wednesday, Jan. 1 in Pittsburg.

He was born May 22, 1922, in Pittsburg to Clint and Roma Etta Langdon Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter served in the Air Force, was a member of the New Mine Baptist Church where he is also served as a deacon, and was a retired mail carrier.

Mr. Carpenter was survived by his wife Patsy Ruth Carpenter of Pittsburg; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Ray and Shree Carpenter of Gilmer; daughters and son-in-laws, Sharal and Vardell Madding of Longview, and Brenda and Tony Bynum of Mount Pleasant; stepson Russ Cooper and his wife Nancy Cooper of Tyler.

Mr. Pack was preceded in death by parents.

Bryant
A graveside service was held for Emmitt Gene Bryant, 86, Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 3 p.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. Ray McCormack officiated the services.
Mr. Bryant was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Bailey to Guy and Viola Sudderth Bryant. He died Sunday, Jan. 5 at his home in Newsome. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Bryant is survived sons, Brad Bryant of Bonham and Jeff Bryant of Newsome; daughter, Connie Factor of Pottsboro; brother, Bobby Bryant of Bonham; sister Joyce Fulmer of Bonham; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren
Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his parents and his spouse, Betty Bryant.

Beckham
Services for Hollis Wayne Beckham, 75, were held Monday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Interment is at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Beckham was born July 28, 1938 in Crosbyton. He died Friday, Dec. 27 in Mount Pleasant.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, and sold insurance with Reliable Life Insurance for many years.
He is survived by his spouse, Martha Beckham of Mount Pleasant; daughter Debby Williams of Longview; sister-in-law Linda Boyd of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren and one step-grandchild, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and very special friend Raymond Tosh of Mount Pleasant.
Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his parents William Hollis Beckham and Ida Belle Feagley Beckham, his son Troy Wayne Beckham and sister, Verniel Koetting.
Pallbearers were Eddie Spear, Richard Taylor, Cezer Garcia, Caroll Busbee, Jaime Santiago and Mike Mahone.

Interment was in Christian Hope Cemetery in Upshur County. 
Ms. Bennett was born May 17, 1963 in Gilmer. 
Ms. Bennett died Dec. 14 at her home in Gilmer.

Services for Naomi Grant were held Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11:00 p.m., with the Elder Jimmy W. Smith officiating. 
Interment was in Bolton Cemetery. Ms. Grant was born April 4, 1927 in Pittsburg. 
Ms. Grant died Dec. 13 at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Services for Glinda M. Morrow, 53, of Lone Star were held Monday, Dec. 23 at Gums Springs Church in Douglassville with Rev. Q.T. Williams officiating. Interment followed at Gums Springs Cemetery.

Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetary. Mr. Carlock was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Pittsburg. Mr. Carlock died Dec. 11 at his home in Pittsburg.

Services for Tanya Elaine Clifton, 52, of Lone Oak were held Monday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Clifton died Friday, Dec. 13 at Medical Center of Plano.
She was born May 26, 1961 in Lone Oak to Bobby Dean Matthews and Faye Laverene Cox.
Survivors include her husband David Clifton of Loan Oak; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jennifer Clifton of Pittsburg; daughter, Magen Clifton of Pittsburg; brother, David Matthews of Pittsburg; sisters, Vicky Skelton of Mount Pleasant, Mellissa Werthen of Mount Vernon and Olevia Matthews of Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Wilaby was born April 6, 1967 in Mount Pleasant. He died Nov. 12 in Emory.

Johnson
Sheryl Kaye Johnson died suddenly at age 43 Nov. 13. She was born Nov. 2, 1970 in Cold Water, Kan.
She was a grader at the USDA, working for Cal-Main Foods in Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerral Johnson.
Survivors include her son Angus Johnson of Pittsburg; father, John Swaim of Longview; mother Sheryl Arellano of Pittsburg; brother, John Swaim of Brandywine, MD.; sister, Bonnie Swaim of Pittsburg; and niece, Elizabeth Patino of Nacogdoches.
A private memorial service was held for family and close friends Sunday, Nov. 17.

Stuard
Services for Nellie Stuard, 91, were held at First Baptist Church Monday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery.  She was born Jan. 21, 1922 in Spearman.
Mrs. Stuard died Friday, Nov. 1. She was a retired bookkeeper for Pilgrims and a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Becky Stuard and Ronnie and Tonia Stuard, all of Pittsburg; six grandchildren, Mandy Stuard Sawyer, Daniel Stuard, Brittany Stuard Board, Randall E. Stuard, Jessica Stuard Pritchett and Chris Stuard. She was preceded in death by her husband George Arvol Stuard and parents, Robert Waddy Thompson and Nellie Lee Moore Thompson.
Pallbearers were Chris Stuard, Daniel Stuard, Randall E. Stuard, Tommy Board, Nate Pritchett and Clinton Sawyer.

Marshall
Longtime Pittsburg business owner, James Cotie Marshall, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 31 at East Texas Medical Center Pittsburg. Mr. Marshall owned James’ Barber Shop for 51 years. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon; he was past president and a current member of the Pittsburg Rodeo Association and an Army veteran. Mr. Marshall was responsible for bringing  the Handicapable Rodeo to the state of Texas 26 years ago. The handicapable rodeo started with 5 participants the first year and has expanded to over 700 participants in 2013.
Born Sept. 13, 1932, and raised in Pittsburg, Mr. Marshall’s parent’s Crafton Gather Marshall and Mary Martha Richardson Marshall preceded him in death.
Services, under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home, were held for Mr. Marshall at Macedonia Baptist Church, Saturday, Nov. 2, with the Revs. Randy Stracener and Eddie Marsh officiating. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery.
