Billy Gene Holmes died Oct. 21 in Tyler. He was born Dec. 26, 1934 in Pittsburg. Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 30 with Suffragan Bishop Robert L. Evans officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Disman

Disman
Services for Mark Disman, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 9 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating. Interment followed the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.
Mr. Disman was born May 11, 1935 in Emory, to E.O. Disman and Minnie Lee “Disy” Williams Disman. He was the owner of Mark’s Television for 25 years and also worked as a bank teller at Hibernia National Bank for 19 years.
He is survived by two daughters Amy Givens of Flint,  and Tamie Willi of Lago Vista; three grandchildren Kaleb Willi, Bradley Willi and Braden Givens; two nieces Jennifer Parker, and Melisa Martin, one nephew Melvin Davis. He is also preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet Davis Disman, brother James A. Disman.
Visitation was held at Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Services for Taylor Warren Parrish, 68 of Gilmer, will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Gilliam officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Gilmer. He was born Feb. 2, 1945 in Gilmer and died Sunday, Oct. 6 in Gilmer.

Caldwell
Services for Etta Mae Caldwell, 90, were held Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Hollingsworth officiating. Interment followed at Mount Vernon City Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
She was born Sept. 1, 1923 in Hagansport, and died Sunday, Oct. 6 at a hospital in Pittsburg. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Caldwell survivors include one son, Bill and wife Annette Miller of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and one sister, Ruth Harris of Bay City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Bill Miller and W.R. Caldwell; daughters Mary Fillinger, Loretta Miller, and Sue Fillinger; brother Vernon Pike; sister Evadean West.
Pallbearers were Brian Miller, Tony McGovern, Anthony McGovern, Mark Goss, Michael Rogers, Steve Ferguson, Ian Ferguson, and Brandon Frey.

Services for James Barnes were held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at Family Worship Center in Pittsburg with Joe Cameron and David Posey officiating. Interment was at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Vivian, La. Mr. Barnes was born Sept. 3, 1930 in Rodessa, La., and died Wednesday, Oct. 2 in a Pittsburg nursing center. Mr. Barnes served in the Army during Korea.

Nichols

New Albany, Miss. - Irene Culver Nichols, age 83, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth.  She was born August 1, 1930 in Marshall County to the late Cleveland Alexander Culver and Nancy Ester Lee Wright.  She was a housewife, and a member of the Apostolic Revival Center.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Steve Denton officiating.  Burial will be in the Glenfield Memorial Park.

Services for James Edward Skinner, Jr., 53, will be held Saturday September 14 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Alvin Hunt officiating. Interment will be at Love Chapel Cemetery in Hughes Springs.

Mr. Skinner was born Sept. 26, 1960 in Tucson, Az. He died Sept. 3 at a hospital in Longview.

Obituaries week of Sept. 12

Coffman

Services for Jacob Marion “Jake” Coffman, 95, were held Sept. 10 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Ray Vaughn officiating. Interment was in Lafayette Cemetery in the Lafayette Community.

He was born Jan. 10, 1918 in Camp County to parents William Richard Coffman and Lillian Barbara Roberts.

He died Sep. 7 at The Villas in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Coffman served in World War II in the Navy. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a member of the Silver Threads,  and the Senior Citizens ‘Pickin’ and Grinnin,’ United Steel Worker’s Union, and former member of LaFayette Baptist Church. He retired as a switchboard operator at Lone Star Steel after 31 years.
