White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Cat sh are slow on trotlines. Caddo: Water murky; 50–54 degrees; 2.50’ high. Black bass are slow on weightless Senkos and Texas rigged creature baits. White and yellow bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. Cat sh are fair on trotlines and cut shad. Fork: Water stained to muddy; 49–52 degrees; 0.47’ low. Black bass are fair on utter spoons and football jigs. Some sh being caught on umbrella rigs. White and yellow bass are fair on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming production of the children’s musical Pinkalicious at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. She is pictured (second from left) presenting the donation to Nita May, NTCC Director of Development (left), Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, and Lori Hunter, Administrative Assistant to the VP for Advancement and Financial Aid Advisor. Stoney LaRue wows crowd in Linden

Music City Texas eater put on another electric, entertaining, and packed show this past weekend, January 23, 2016 featuring Red Dirt sensation, Stoney LaRue. A er the Judson Cole Band opened and got the crowd stirred up, Stoney LaRue and his band mates rocked the house playing several fan favorite songs, including “Oklahoma Breakdown” and “Velvet,” and many more that had the crowd singing along. LaRue, a Texas native who now resides inOklahoma, has been involved in the music industry for several years now and has built up quite the fan base. LaRue, an independently charged artist, has sold over 300,000 records over the course of his career and plays over 200 shows per year. Many of his songs have seen the top of the charts, with the most recent chart topper being his hit “Golden Shackles” from his eOne Music debut, Aviator, in 2014.

Arrest made in $60,000 theft case

Sixty thousand dollars’ worth of jewelry has been returned to its owner, and Jose Miguel Garcia-Martinez, 19, of Mount Pleasant has been charged with the . “ e jewelrywas reported stolen on Jan. 5. e owners had been out of town for the weekend, and returned to nd the jewelry gone,” Sheri Alan McCandless said. “We interviewed everyone who had been in the house within the past few days. at included Garcia-Martinez, a contract laborer.” In an interview with Sheri McCandless and Chief Deputy Randal Lain Jr., Garcia-Martinez said he had helped move the nightstand where the jewelry was kept, but he denied seeing, or taking, it.

Pittsburg Intermediate School is nominated for national recognition

In a time when schools are having di cult times with budget cuts and other dynamics that play in the performance of academics, one of Pittsburg’s schools has been nominated for 2016 National Blue Ribbon honors. Pittsburg Intermediate, under the leadership of Principal Sarah Richmond, is one of 26 schools to receive the nomination. Mrs. Richmond was honored with a luncheon in the Intermediate School Library as the entire Intermediate school sta celebrated the Pittsburg Intermediate School’s National honor. Superintendent Judy Pollan credits dedicated sta and supportive parents.

Sheriff’s office seeks information on theft

Information is being sought on the the of an Artic Cat side by side, a Can Am four-wheeler and a 20-foot trailer. e value of the trailer and recreational vehicles is approximately $20,000. “Deputy Clay Hefner was dispatched to County Road 2220 on Dec. 8, in reference to that the ,” Camp County Sheri Alan McCandless said. “ e the occurred sometime between 6:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. that day.” Anyone with information is asked to contact the Camp County Sheri ’s O ce at 903-856-6651, or Crime Stoppers, 903-855-STOP (7867).

Police arrest truck thieves

Chief Richard Penn released a statement that the Pittsburg Police arrested Elijah Okeith Boyd, Dec. 23, and charged him with theft of a vehicle, he was arrested with two juveniles ages 14 and 15. The vehicle, a 2006 Ford pick-up, had been stolen from the parking lot at 110 S. Texas St. The police located the truck later that night abandoned and badly damaged.

Pinewood Derby competition held

Cub Scout pack 210

Pittsburg Cub Scout Pack 210 held their annual Pinewood Derby on Saturday, Jan. 16 at the First United Methodist Church. Pinewood Derby cars are made by the cub scouts and their parents from a block of wood and must meet weight requirements to race. e cars are painted and tuned before the race in hopes of winning the overall title.
