Camp County voters approve $10 million bond issue

On Saturday, voters approved the issuance of $10 million in bonds for the Pittsburg Independent School District by a 605 to 258 margin.

Pittsburg library reboots the summer reading program for students

NTCC Agriculture to host Farmers’ Market

The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture Department is hosting the debut NTCC Farmers’ Market on May 3. The event will be held at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Ag Complex (across Farm-to-Market Road 1735 from the main NTCC campus) from 9 a.m. until sell out.

Truck collides with electric pole in downtown Pittsburg

In the early morning on April 17, an 18-wheeler truck hit the exact same electric pole that was broken on Feb. 26 by traffic. Electric repair crews maneuvered the pole back into its normal position. Rusk Street does not allow 18-wheelers to drive through to the downtown area.

The Camp County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activities:
Thomas Edward Morris was arrested by the Police Department April 16 for possession of a controlled substance, over 1 gram less than 4 grams.

Camp County road sign thefts might halt emergency responders

The theft and damage to county road signs is a recurring problem in Precinct 4. Camp County Sheriff Alan McCandless said he feels this is being done by youngsters who do not realize the consequences.
