United Methodist Women sewing for veterans

By Pam Goforth | President, United Methodist Women

At the monthly meeting of the United Methodist Women, the group sewed mobility totes for walkers to be donated to the local nursing homes.
The women are also organizing a blanket drive for the Children’s Hospital at ETMC Tyler and gathering donated suitcases, duffle bags, backpacks, and totes for Veterans at the V.A. Hospital in Bonham to be used when they are discharged from the hospital.
It is our understanding that some leave with their personal items in a paper bag.
The United Methodist Women of Pittsburg meet the second Tuesday of each month at “The Rock” and the public is welcome.
To donate, contact the First United Methodist Church, 109 College St., or call 903- 856-2839.
