“Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today” “I want to be a part of it, New York. New York.”

Yes, the presidential candidates are living Frank Sinatra`s dream while trying to convince the New York voters they are the candidate they need to support. Well maybe not everyone, Ted Cruz is just trying to survive. Cruz has been hammered over a comment (it was extremely true) about “New York” values. In fact, a trip to a local high school was canceled because of a threaten walkout by the students, who oppose Cruz`s views on immigration. Sure, the kids opposed Cruz`s view on immigration, but I bet over half of them didn`t know Cruz. Heck, I bet 25 percent didn`t know what immigration means. New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has said their state doesn`t want any ultra-conservatives, right to lifers, second amendment lovers and anti-gays coming to their state.

Famous American things: The Constellation

On March 21, the first official Air Force One, named the Columbine II, stopped in Mt. Pleasant overnight because this airport was exactly half way fromMarana Regional Airport in Marana, Ariz., to Dynamic Aviation’s headquarters in Bridgewater, Va. Dynamic Aviation purchased the plane to save it from the scrap yard. ey plan to restore the plane to the same condition it was in, when it was Air Force One, and use it as a ying museum at air shows. e Constellation, or ‘Connie’ as is a ectionately called, is a prop driven, four-engine airliner that was built by Lockheed Corporation between 1943 and 1958 in Burbank, Calif.

By TYLER REYNOLDS

A man once told me, “Tyler, I don’t think it is as hard to get to heaven as what folks make it out to be. I think you just have to grab hold of Jesus’ coat tail and hold on tight”. From then on that simple, but poetic statement has loomed in the back of mind during my entire Christian walk. Simplicity is something that many theologians have failed to grasp, and I believe it does an injustice to the gospel. Rules and rhetoric have clouded what a relationship with Jesus truly means. It’s a love a air. People never end up abiding in God because of rules... ey abide in him because of love. You didn’t help the lady next door with her rent, change that man’s tire, or give a hitch hiker a ride because you were scared you weren’t going to heaven if you didn’t. You did it because you love people, and that love comes from Jesus. On the ip side, refraining from doing bad things because of fear of Hell never works.

Famous American things: The B-25 Mitchell

Last week the original President’s Air Force One Constellation landed at the Mt. Pleasant airport for a lay-over for the night on its way to VA for repairs and restoration. e escort plane was a B-25 Mitchell medium bomber. As a lover of old war birds, I was attacked more to the B-25 than the Connie. e B-25 World War II bomber was one of the most versatile aircra of that era. The plane was manufacture by North American Aviation that was actually owned by General Motors during those war years, but retained the name. It was named in honor of Major General William “Billy” Mitchell, a pioneer of U.S. military aviation. Its first offering to the Army Air Corps in 1938 was deemed underpowered. The second offering was fitted with two 1,600 Horse Power engines that solved the under power problem. Another problem was a constant-dihedral, meaning the wing had a consistent, upward angle from the fuselage to the wingtip in flight. is design caused problems with stability.

But his breath smelled like “cheese fries”

In the movie “True Lies” Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the part of a “business man” who is secretly a spy. Jamie Lee Curtis plays his wife with the need of a lot more excitement in her life. It is a wonderful movie to watch and in the last scene they are attending a “State Department/Black Tie” a air and they are required to tango. ey did a wonderful job; I`m sure it took days if not weeks of practice and several “takes” to get the scene just right. How art imitates life. President Obama, who has pretended to be the president the last seven years (and not very well in my opinion), he has been secretly taking dance lessons. After the Obamas gave the Castro boys everything they could, and got nothing in return, they flew on down to Buenos Aires where the two of themwere able to dance the night away with a couple of professional dancers.
