Pirates defeat Atlanta Rabbits, will play Paris Friday

By Seth Hudson

The Pirates went 1 for 2 last week, losing in Pleasant Grove 9-5 Tuesday and beating Atlanta at home 3-2 Friday night.
Brian Taylor had over a dozen strikeouts and 2 RBI’s in the win over Atlanta. Zack de Luna and Cody Perry both went 2 for 2 with a pair of base hits and stolen bases, and Trace Burns walked a run in with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 3-run third inning for Pittsburg.
Atlanta’s Cameron Schultz had an RBI single in the third, knocking in Chase Musgrove who had reached on a walk. In the fourth inning Atlanta had another run on what was essentially an inside the park home run as the Pirates had a series of overthrows and errors off what probably would have been a base hit by Woods.
The Pirates played at North Lamar Tuesday and will face Paris in Pittsburg on Friday.  They are now 3-2 in District play.
