Male Chorus has 9th anniversary

Camp County Interdenominational Male Chorus will be celebrating their 9th anniversary on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.

Shannon Davis of the Winnsboro Livestock Commission, 903-365-2201, reported a total of 495 head of cattle moved through the auction on
Dec. 6, at the following prices:
•Steers, under 300 pounds, $1.60-$2.50 a pound; 300-400 pounds, $1.50-$2.25 a pound; 400-500 pounds, $1.35-$2.00 a pound; over 500 pounds, $1.20-$1.80 a pound.
•Heifers, under 300 pounds, $1.25-$2.35 a pound; 300-400 pounds, $1.20-$1.80  a pound; 400-500 pounds, $1.10-$1.60 a pound; over 500 pounds, $1.00-$1.55 a pound.
•Packer cows, $55 - $92.50
•Packer bulls, $80 - $102.50
•Cows and heifers, $1050 - $1750
•Cow/Calf Pairs, $1350-$2100 a head.
• Baby calves, $10 - $175 a head.

Obituaries

Rogers
Services for Cleveland Leon Rogers were held Saturday Dec. 7 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Lowell Ford officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetary. He was born Oct. 3, 1948 in Pittsburg. He died Nov. 22 at his home in Dallas.
Scroggins
Services for Donnie Joe Scroggins will be held at a later date. He was born Jan. 13, 1952 in Paris. He died Dec. 5 at his home in Gilmer.
Mangram
Services for James General Mangram were held Sunday Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Brooks officiating. Interment was in Traylor Cemetery. He was born Dec. 18, 1927 in Pittsburg. He died Nov. 29 at his home in Pittsburg.
Hodge
A memorial service was held for Thomas Allen Hodge of Plano on Dec. 4. He was born Sept. 21, 1957 in Pittsburg and died Dec. 1 in Plano. Mike Cline officiated the service.

10 YEARS AGO
The city and county reached an agreement on ownership of the police station on Jefferson Street. After months of discussion, the city now has full ownership of the property.
Billy Paul and Annie Ruth Hanson donate a house on College Street to Northeast Texas Community College.
The Ezekiel Airship soars in popularity.
It has recently been featured in the Christian Science Monitor, and Voice of America, a radio station in Washington, D.C. is now doing a feature on the flying machine.
A Los Angeles Times reporter has also visited the museum to do a feature on the Ezekiel Airship.
Carolyn Franks is presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship and the Rotarian of the Year honors.
20 YEARS AGO
Gov. Ann Richards has received an ornament from Pittsburg to hang on the Christmas tree at the Governor’s Mansion.
Vanoy Lester designed and painted the ornament.

AEP Southwesten Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is preparing for winter storms across its service territory, with highest impact in Arkansas, where heavy accumulations of ice and snow are expected. SWEPCO has assembled over 350 total resources from Oklahoma, Alabama, Missouri, Louisiana and Texas to assist with storm recovery efforts.
SWEPCO’s power outage report number is 1-888-218-3919, available 24 hours a day.
Customers also can report outages online and on mobile devices at SWEPCO.com. Customers can look for outage updates on SWEPCO.com and Facebook.com/SWEPCO.
SWEPCO has an emergency preparedness team at Shreveport, La.-based Distribution Dispatch Center that continuously monitors winter storm conditions in the company’s Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas service areas. SWEPCO work crews are on standby alert for power restoration efforts.
