Around the city with Richard Penn

The Pittsburg Police Department is comprised of a group of men and women who want to provide professional service to the community we serve. Your officers are placed in situations that can sometimes be debated by the legal system for years, yet that officer has to make split second decisions. As an administrator, it is my goal to give these officers all of the tools necessary to make those decisions to the best of their ability. One thing that always needs to be kept in mind is that your officers are human. As humans, we do the best we can but it isn’t always a perfect decision. As humans, our behaviors are shaped by many influences. I am proud to serve alongside these officers. I hold them to a high standard. I believe our citizens hold us to a high standard. I enjoy reading and early in my career, read a story about William Parker, a former police chief in Los Angeles.

And the poll says

I decided to create a poll for the main two presidential candidates, now the sample size is very small (just me) so there is a chance the scienti c validity is not very high, but I think the accuracy is dead on.

• Economy and who will do a better Job Donald Trump 93 percent Hillary Clinton 7 percent

Trump can create high paying jobs, and well, Hillary is just concerned with taxing income from those jobs.

• Dealing with Terrorism Trump 99 percent Clinton 1 percent Trump will try to eradicate terrorism all over the world. Clinton has actually created terrorism. e only reason she got 1 percent was I didn`t want to appear to be biased.

Pittsburg, Texas

By JOSIE HENDERSON

When I meet someone who has never heard of it (which happens a lot), I start educating them on the Ezekiel Airship, Pittsburg Hot Links, and Efurd Peaches. I make it sound like Pittsburg is the best thing since sliced bread. Because it is. Pittsburg has been home to my family for six generations, as a child and teen, I didn’t fully appreciate that like I do now. I have never been more proud to be from Pittsburg than I was a er this weekend. is weekend, we proved that Pittsburg is still a great place to live. At the Unity Rally, we had such an amazing outpouring of support. All races, many denominations came together with one purpose - to remind us all that, no matter what we see on social media or the nightly news, we can come together peacefully and stand up for our town.
