Pioneer Club supports hospice

The hospice thrift shop is moving from the location on Greer Boulevard to 149 Quitman St., formerly Lampe Avenue. After the move, the shop will have a new name, The Icehouse, in honor of the former use of that building.

Koller, Claxton engaged

Mr. Johnny Koller and Mrs. Christina Koller of Pittsburg announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Koller.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Pittsburg High School. She is studying animal science at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is employed at Tractor Supply in Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Koen and Christine Koller, Otto and Teuni Nieuwenhuizen, Alice Rogers and the late Glen Rogers.
The groom to be is Ryan Claxton of Miller Grove. He is the son of Ricky Claxton of Odessa and Lori Hall of Miller Grove. He is a 2007 graduate of Miller Grove High School. He is employed by Miller Grove Farm Supply and runs his own cattle. Mr. Clayton is the grandson of C. L. and Doris Hall and the late Dale and Mary Claxton.
The couple is registered at Hoover’s Jewelry in Pittsburg and Wal-Mart.
The wedding will be March 30 in Pittsburg at the First United Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m.

Celebrating Ministry Day

The Emmanuel Baptist Church family will host a special time of worship this coming Sunday at 10 a.m. The day is being called Celebration Ministry Day and will focus on various ministries and missions the church has in reaching people for Christ. There will be a time of worship and praise as well as a time of sharing of how anyone and everyone can be on a mission for God.
Marc Eckel from Splat Experience will be a part of the service, using testimony, music and paint focusing on worship and evangelism. Following the service, ministry tables will be set up with information on each ministry of the church and how individuals can become involved. A meal will be served at noon.

Theatre Northeast to perform ‘The Nerd’

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group at Northeast Texas Community College, is set to present the side-splitting comedy by Larry Shue, ‘The Nerd.’ The show will be performed in the onstage theatre at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and runs Feb. 28, March 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee on March 3 at 2:05 p.m.
Described as “one of the funniest plays ever written,” this extraordinarily inventive farce has pleased audiences since its first production in 1981.The story of the play involves Willum Cubbert, an aspiring young architect from Indiana, who has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman. Rick is an ex GI whom Cubbert had never met, but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam.

Duck Dynasty flies into Whatley Center this spring

Television’s hit show Duck Dynasty is headed to Northeast Texas Community College. Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander himself, and his youngest son, Jep, will speak on the NTCC campus on April 6. The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This event is hosted by the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation and will take place at NTCC’s Bob Baker Stadium. Tickets will go on sale on Feb. 25. All tickets are $20 and include a meal and admission to hear Phil and Jep speak.
“Duck Dynasty is hugely popular right now, and we are thrilled to host Phil and Jep on our campus. We are expecting a big crowd for this fun, family event,” said Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC vice president for advancement.

Engagement: Lindley & Robinson

Steve and Brenda Lindley of Pittsburg are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kelly Renea Lindley, to Ryan Scott Robinson, son of Larry and Sharon Robinson of Southlake.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Pittsburg High School and a 2010 graduate of Texas Christian University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  She will graduate as a Doctor of Pharmacy with a Masters in Business Administration in May 2014 from Harding University.  Ms. Lindley is the granddaughter of Don and Peggy Lindley of Winnsboro and the late Bill and Sondra Rainey of Pittsburg.

The 11th Hour

Pastor Matthew Taylor of the First Pentecostal Church of Pittsburg invites everyone to join the 11th Hour, where the church will open its doors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday- Friday, for anyone who would like to come and find a place to pray, read their Bible, or just relax for a little while during the day.

There are no strings attached and membership is not required.
 The church is located at 105 Arch Davis Road.
