‘All Star’ cheerleaders

The Pittsburg Junior High Cheerleaders and Mascot attended a UCA camp.  These three were selected to the All American Team.  Callie Huggins and Sydney Waldrep as All American Cheerleaders.  Grant McGee as an All American Mascot.  The camp was held at The University of Texas in Arlington.

Faith Building Ministries revival set

Faith Building Ministries will host its annual revival, Oct. 11-13, at 11 am during the morning service, and nightly at 7 p.m.

Holy Cross Catholic Church to hold fall festival

Holy Cross Catholic will hold their annual Fall Festival Sunday, October 13 from 12:30 p.m . until 5 p.m. at the church, located at 461 Hill Street in Pittsburg.
The event will feature games and activities for children and participants of all ages. Among these are cake walks, games, pony rides, a talent show, music, door prizes and live auctions.
Various food booths will offer choices of Mexican, Vietnamese, barbeque, fruit salads, hot dogs, soft drinks, sno-cones, corn on the cob and other foods.

New baby boy

Connor Jace Williams was born Oct. 1 at 3:22 a.m. at Titus Regional Medical Center to parents Jesse Williams and Marvona Sparks of Pittsburg. He weighed six pounds and five ounces, and measured 19 inches. He joins  siblings Jaycie and Trinity Williams.
Baby Connor is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.  Scott Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sparks, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. John Williams, and the great grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McAdams, Judy Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sparks, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Holt, Sr.

McNeil, Weaver wed

Hannah Shea McNeil and Jacob Robert Weaver, both of Pittsburg, were wed in a traditional wedding ceremony, August 10, at Macon Baptist Church in Mount Vernon by Pastor Dan Bohler.

The event was directed and decorated by wedding planner Patricia Steele. The bride is the daughter of Twila Lentz Erwin and Billy D. McNeil, both of Pittsburg.

The bride was given away by her father, Billy D. McNeil. She carried a bouquet of purple and yellow flowers.

graduated from Robinson High School in 2007 and
The University of Texas at Tyler in 2012 with a
Bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Danny
and Susan Howell and the late David and Gloria
Groce of Pittsburg. Dylan graduated from Spring
Hill High School in 2009 and The University of
Texas of Tyler in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree of
Business Administration in Marketing.

Shirley and Parker get engaged

Era Osornio and Desirae and Kyndra Parker announce the engagement of their parents, Megan Shirley and Matthew Parker, both of Pittsburg.
The bride-elect works in accounting and operations at Cypress Bank. She is the daughter of James and Paula Shirley of Pittsburg. Her grandparents are Elaine and the late Jimmy Shirley of Pittsburg, Gail and Tommy Smith of Quitman and Wilma and the late Pete Neal of Pittsburg.
The groom-elect is the owner of Matt Parker Construction and Parker Farm Services. He is the son of Tim and Trudi Parker. His grandparents are J. C. and Leona Rozell of Pittsburg and the late Carrol Parker and the late Ora Lee Parker.
The couple will wed on Oct. 12 at Los Pinos Winery in Pittsburg at 4 p.m., with a reception to immediately follow at Highland Club Lake Club House. Friends and family are invited to attend through the press.

Bryclyn announces the birth of her little brother, Maverick John Marshall, who was born August 4 in Arkansas. His parents are Erin and Brittany Marshall of Mountain View, Arkansas. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19.25 inches long.

 “Madagascar III” will be shown at Broach Park at sundown tomorrow night
 There’s no need to bring money for admission, just a lawn chair or blanket. Admission is free, and a free bounce house will be on site. The concession stand will open around 6:30 p.m.
