The prospective groom is the son of Paula and James Shirley; the grandson of Elaine Shirley of Leesburg the late Jimmy Shirley and Gail and Tommy Smith of Quitman.
 
The couple will exchange vows on May 10 at 6 p.m. at Tankersley Gardens in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Debra Sampson of Gladewater is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter Lindsey Ruth Sampson of Gladewater to Stephen Lloyd Crane of Elysian Fields.
 The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Leo Sampson and granddaughter of the late Gerald Crawford, the late Betty Ruth Crawford McDonald, Bob McDonald of Carthage and the late Emmitt and Ethel Sampson.  Lindsey is a 2003 graduate of Union Grove High School and a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M with a degree in biomedical science.  She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M in 2011. She is currently employed as a veterinarian with Banfield Pet Hospital in Plano.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Chris and Kathryn Hadley of Paris and Kenneth Barnes of Blossom. The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate from Prairiland High School. She attended Paris Junior College and is currently a caregiver for Visiting Angels in Paris.
The couple will exchange vows on May 17 at the Life Community Church in Paris.

Ms. Jones is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Knoedl of Fordyce, Ark. and Tom and Beverly Jones of Little Rock, Ark.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Ina Lou Waldrep of Pittsburg, the late Jerry Waldrep, the late Roy Williams and the late Wanda and Cliff Harlow. Mr. Waldrep graduated from Pittsburg High School as salutatorian in 2003 and from The University of Arkansas with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering in 2007.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Buster and Kay Garlington of Fordyce, Ark. and the late Charles and Imogene Jones.

‘Students of the month’

Hunter Howell, left, and Mason Monts were presented a “Student of the Month” yard sign.  Hunter and Mason were chosen as the October “Student of the Month” due to them exhibiting qualities of leadership, citizenship, and being great representatives of Pittsburg Junior High.
