A called Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Pittsburg Independant School District was held Monday, Feb. 3 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the central office board room.
The board mainly went over and was informed over several constructional bids for comparison that would be made on different school sites. The presenter, Charlie Price from Compass Builders had a list of bids for each piece of work that would be done from the Home Economics building to the asphalt.
“We want to make sure that we are looking at things apples to apples when it comes to reviewing and deciding on the different bids,” Mr. Price said.
The board was presented with a list that had the item of construction on the left, the bid amount presented in the middle column and the lowest qualified bind the company would recommend on the right.
Mr. Price informed the board that there was more than one binder for different projects.
The list of projects would begin on a Home Economics building at the high school. The next project would move over to the junior high site for a new band hall, then on to the elementary for a cafeteria. The next project would be at the Primary School site to work on the bathrooms for the students. The final step in the project would be to move back to the high school for an Ag building.
After the report was reviewed by the board, the next item on the agenda was to approve the bids as presented for the bond project. The motion was carried 6-0 to continue forward with the bond project and setting up appointments with the contractors for further details on how the projects would be completed.
