Buckley (no opposition); for county treasurer, Alton Richardson (no opposition); for district clerk, Bessie Colvert (no opposition); for just of the peace, incumbent T.H. Miller and David Abernathy; for county school superintendent, incumbent Alton Martin and Loyd E. Richardson.
Pittsburg girls varsity basketball team won the District 7AAA championship with a 79-47 victory over Jefferson.
The plat for the Kentwood addition was presented at the city council meeting for approval.
