On Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, Sheriff Alan McCandless and Chief Deputy Randal Lain received information leading to the recovery stolen property on Farm-to-Market Road 2088 in Wood County. The investigators of Wood County Sheriff’s Department met to assist Camp County with the stolen property.
The investigators were able to locate a Yamaha Grizzly 550 Camo four-wheeler and a Stryker dune buggy that had been stolen from Camp County.
Sheriff McCandless and Deputy Lain were also able to recover another Yamaha four-wheeler that had been stolen out of Franklin County and a Ranger Polaris side by side that was stolen out of Bryan County in Oklahoma.
The theft of the Stryker dune buggy had been reported stolen off of County Road 3417, Oct. 8, 2013. The Yamaha Grizzly 550 had been reported in a theft on Dec. 31 along with a Polaris 500 4 x 4 green four-wheeler and a small black utility trailer. Although the two four-wheelers and utility trailer had been reported stolen on Dec. 31, the theft could have occurred two week prior to that date.
On Tuesday, Jan. 7 around 10 p.m. Deputy Dustin Swann responded to a theft of a John Deere Gator off of FM 2455. The gator had been removed from the property within the past three hours of the report.
