Recollections of 1938 graduate give glimpse into Pittsburg’s past

Nadine Richardson knows a lot about Pittsburg history. She has lived through generations.
Nadine’s daughter-in-law, Pat Richardson, recently sat to talk with her brother about their past class reunions when Nadine decided to join the conversation with her memories as a Pittsburg student in the 1930’s.
“He had his 55th and mine was the 45th,” Pat Richardson said. “All of the sudden Nadine, my mother-in-law, pulled her class ring out of her purse.”
Nadine Laird Richardson, showed her daughter-in-law the gold ring she received when attending Pittsburg High School in 1938. Mrs. Richardson, known as Nadine Laird back then, would’ve celebrated her 75th class reunion this past May if her classmates would’ve joined her.
Born Sept. 15, 1920, Mrs. Richardson lived in Ebenezer growing up and attended school there until the eighth grade.
“I was a country girl,” Mrs. Richardson said.
