Random thoughts about food, football and Christmas
One Man's Opinion By Roy Knox:
Sometimes ordering food you have never tried is a good idea and sometimes it is not. Last Friday night I ordered a meal that included roasted pork belly. It sounded strangely good, but it was nasty. It was a chunk pig fat so hot it was almost liquid and tasted likes unflavored Jell-O. Not sure the dogs would have eaten it. It will be awhile before I venture out into the unknown, well at least food wise.
• We had Thanksgiving in Austin this year, way too much food and almost over dosed on football. I watched three games on television, but I decided not to go to the Texas-Texas Tech game. I have learned restrain in my older years.
• The Alabama-Auburn game was a classic. A 100+ yard return of a missed field goal attempt, with no time left and the upset of an unbeaten number 1 ranked Alabama by its rival Auburn is just college football at its best.
• I will be putting up the Christmas tree this weekend. We always have a real tree and it is always very big and heavy. I`m already tired just thinking about it.
