With a stroke of a pen
One Man’s Opinion
by Roy Knox
With a stroke of a pen, President Obama yet again issued an executive order, this time directing a government-wide effort to boost preparations in states and local communities for the impact of global warming. This really means Federal Government interference, for example, taking in consideration climate conditions in the future when building infrastructure. This means over engineering, more government regulations, and projects with bloated costs. It should come as no surprise, this President and his policy cronies have tried their best to spend us into becoming a third world country. Obama, using the E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency) as his own personal hammer, consistently labels the cheaper option the wrong one. This falls right in line with the administration’s hatred of anything coal. Coal is abundant and cheap and appears to be an easy target when comparing the power produced by it as compared to wind or solar power. The real truth is solar and wind are both too expensive to use as a base load unit. Without a federal subsidy, wind power is just too expensive to create and less than dependable.
When did it become alright to exclude the legislative branch of government when creating laws? When did the Judicial Branch become just a lapdog to the President? Do we have a president or do we have a king? He certainly acts like one. I surely wouldn’t ask Michelle (Marie Antoinette) Obama her opinion, because she would say “let them eat cake” as long as it is low-fat. This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last for these executive orders. I’m afraid the next executive order will limit the use of sugar.
