If you’re an animal lover, you will not want to miss an opportunity to help our four-legged homeless friends in Titus, Pittsburg and Gilmer. The second annual Casino event is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Titus County Civic Center and will help area homeless dogs and kitties, not only find homes but keep them alive and well.

Shelia McKelvey is the chairperson of the event and tickets are available at Bruechner Animal Clinic, First National Bank of Gilmer, Guaranty Bank and Trust (in main bank Mount Pleasant location), Mount Pleasant Pet Resort and Animal Clinic and Titus County Veterinary Clinic. (The Pittsburg Veterinarian Clinic was inadvertently left off this story as a sponsor and where tickets may also be purchased.) All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward transferring the dogs to their forever homes and any vet bills for the injured dogs that are abused or dumped. Funds also help spay and neuter animals as well.

The 1920s themed jazz event will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 and the cost is $100 for two guests. Cocktails and dinner will be served along with an exclusive live and silent auction.
