After a slow start and going into the second half behind the Gladewater Bears 14 - 3, the Pittsburg Pirates scored 32 unanswered points in the third and fourth quarters for their second win of the 2013 season, 35-14.
When asked about what was said in the locker room during halftime, Pirate’s head coach Dickey Meeks told his athletes “It’s all about how you react to adversity--you either face it or you don’t.  And they did.”
Gladewater put up their first six points with a 15 yard run by junior James Reese followed by sophomore Marcello Jackson’s PAT with 5:45 remaining in the first quarter.  The Bears would score their final touchdown of the game with 8:22 to go in the second quarter as junior quarterback Nick Canaguier connected with junior Bailey Glenn for a 75 yard touchdown pass and successful extra point attempt.  Pittsburg senior Daniel Silva kicked a 20 yard field goal at the end of the half.
