One Man's Opinion by Roy Knox
Don`t come home a drinkin (with lovin on your mind)
Not even a near death experience is going to make a “country” fan out of me, but Loretta Lynn`s classic is perfect to describe Hillary Clinton`s expected run for the presidency. The “lovin on your mind” part is the 55 to 60 percent of the votes her camp expects to receive from American voters. Don`t laugh, how many hundred thousands of white votes did President Obama receive just because they didn`t want to be perceived as racists?
Do you really think the misogyny card will not be played often and extremely loud? I`m guessing each time one of her shortcomings is discovered it will be used to misdirect the truth and to explain away all manners of sin.
The ”don`t come home a drinkin” refers to scandals. Most politicians can survive a small scandal, but Clinton just seems to feed off of them. Her failure of handling of the Benghazi incident would have doomed any other politicians, but with the help of the Obama administration, they have hidden evidence, sequestered witnesses, and basically told Congress to shove it. Clinton was a terrible Secretary of State and many unbiased news agencies are blaming her handling of the situation in Syria a year ago for the problems they are now having. This is simply the tip of the iceberg, remember just because someone can be elected, doesn’t mean they need to be.
• Johnny Football survived his half a game penalty and threw for three touchdowns in the second half before the coach benched him. I will be surprised if both of them co-exist throughout the season. The head coach is in a terrible situation.
• The Pittsburg Pirates opened their season by destroying Wills Point 55-14. Look for the Pirates to continue their winning ways this Friday while they host Gladewater.
The Pirates will be dinning on Bear meat to the tune of 37-22.
• Look for the Dallas Cowboys to beat the New York Giants 31-24. Both teams have offensive line problems. More and more the teams with the best records are going to be determined by team health.
• The Texas Rangers might not make to the World Series, but I expect them to go deep in the playoffs.
• The Texas Longhorns are not helping themselves by playing teams so far beneath them. Lopsided wins on inferior teams do not help your program.
• I`m so tired of riding in the back seat, and pretty tired of not being able to drive. I start rehabbing this week.
• For all you One Man Opinion haters out there, write me a letter or two. I’ve got plenty of time to analyze your thoughts. Of course you don’t have to hate my column to write, Roy Knox, 112 Quitman Street, Pittsburg, TX 75686.
