PHS gets national ranking for best high school

Pittsburg High School is recognized in the National Rankings and earned a bronze medal in the 2017 U.S. News Best High Schools in the Country.
Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college. At Pittsburg High School, students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams.
The AP participation rate at Pittsburg High School is 20 percent. The student body makeup is 50 percent male and 50 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 62 percent.
PHS scored 92 percent on Mathematics Proficiency and ranked in English and Mathematics testing higher than the state average. Pittsburg also has a 99 percent Graduation Rate, one of the highest in the country.
Superintendent Judy Pollan said she “ proud of the staff and students at Pittsburg High School who have achieved this honor of being ranked as one of the best schools in the nation.”
