Kennington
Oleta Pierce Kennington, 89, passed away at her home in Pittsburg on Monday morning, April 17.
She was born Oct. 17, 1927 in Dallas to Joe Lorenzo Pierce and Tommie Edgar Pierce. Oleta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a longtime member of the Greer Boulevard Church of Christ in Pittsburg.
Oleta is survived by two sons: Doyce Kennington and wife Jeannine of Pittsburg, and Ois Kennington and wife Deborah also of Pittsburg; a daughter: Carolyn Edwards and husband Richard of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren: Kevin Kennington, Darla Grant, Angie McKinney, Tina Folden, Shawn Kennington, Harold Kennington, Jr., Sarah Faulkner, Scott Edwards, Kim Yandle, and Shanna McGee; 22 great-grandchildren: Shelby Hunt, Hunter Grant, Ryan McKinney, Austin McKinney, Cooper Kennington, Payton Kennington, Chloe Kennington, Max Folden, Emme Folden, Sydney Kennington, Carter Wheat, Cade Wheat, Collin Wheat, Jayden Faulkner, Jeremiah Faulkner, Alyvia Faulkner, Emmaline Faulkner, Kasen Yandel, Cody Yandel, Elizabeth Barton, Chris McGee, and Trevor Shelton.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Tommie Pierce; her husband: Kermit Kennington; a son: Harold “Dynamite” Kennington; a granddaughter: Stephanie Anne Edwards; her two brothers: Joe Pierce and James Pierce; and her sister: Nelda Moore.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Erman Smith Funeral Home, with Virgil Faires officiating.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
A private family burial was held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Weeks
Daulton Lowe Weeks Sr. peacefully left his earthly life to join his sweetheart, Barbara, in heaven on April 12. He was born on June 8, 1939, in Uvalde.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at White Oak Community Church in White Oak with Bro. David Dusek officiating. Burial was held at noon at Piney Grove Cemetery in Upshur County.
