Titus County jury convicts woman

From staff reports
MOUNT PLEASANT -- After hearing two-and-a-half days of testimony, a Titus County jury found Samantha Nicole Wohlford guilty of aggravated kidnapping related to the Feb. 20, 2015 abduction and murder of her husband, Earnest Lee Ibarra.
The jurors subsequently sentenced 27-year-old Wohlford to 50 years confinement with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Three of Wohlford’s accomplices have previously been sentenced in Titus County for aggravated kidnapping and the three were also convicted of Ibarra’s subsequent murder which took place in Camp County.
In February 2015, Titus County Deputies responded to the reported home invasion and abduction, which took place on County Road 2630, in the southwest portion of Titus County.
Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram and his investigators found Wohlford’s account of the alleged offense, to be suspicious as the intense investigation was underway that February morning.
Ultimately, the sheriff and investigators learned the location of Ibarra’s body and also the location of a weapon believed to have been used in the crime.
Wohlford remains under indictment and still faces murder charges in Camp County for her role in the scheme.
