Commissioners accept donation of body armor

Camp County commissioners voted to accept a donation for protective body armor from the U.S. Marshal’s Service for the Camp County Sheriff’s Office during their Feb. 13 meeting.
CCSO will receive 15 vests in the near future.
Commissioners approved a contract with Linebarger, Groggan, Blair, and Sampson, LLP for the collection of fines for Camp County, it is also under consideration to have this company collect the fines for the Camp County Justice of the Peace.
The court renewed the county’s contract with Auctioneer Express Online Auction for the dispersal of any surplus equipment. There was no surplus at this time. This was a renewal of a three-year contract in the event of such a surplus.
Commissioners approved a letter of consent to the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities Services (TDADS) not objecting to the possible construction of a new nursing home here in Camp County. 
An unidentified company is proposing the new facility has purchased land on U.S. Highway 271. The letter of consent is one of the steps the unnamed company must do in order to proceed with construction. The TDADS set the allowable number of Medicaid beds allowed in the county. 
County Judge A.J. Mason said the county is allotted 104 beds for this purpose.
The court approved a resolution supporting Texas House Bill legislation to designate U.S. Highway 271 through Camp County as a Veterans Memorial Highway. 
The court adjourned into executive session. Mason reported the issue was tabled and no decision was made.
