Lady Pirates fall to Pine Tree 70-38

The Lady Pirates were outclassed by the height and speed of the Lady Pine Tree Pirates. Pine Tree began the game with a full court press that made use of Pine Tree’s speed and height advantage. Coach Ryan Herring found a way to defeat the press somewhat. However, the team was held to pretty much only one shot at the basket per possession, as Pine Tree’s height advantage dominated the boards. As usual, the Lady Pirates played hard and did not quit. Star Smith and Sydney Reynolds were high point shooters with 15 points each. The stats show the Lady Pirates put up the shots but there were only 28 re-bounds for the entire game. Pine Tree also intercepted passes and stole the ball using that height and speed advantage during the ÿrst quarter full court press. Malaysia Burns led with nine rebounds, and Taylor Bullock had five.
