Pep rally to be held for intermediate school

A Washington D.C. send-off pep rally will be held at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at Pirate Stadium to celebrate Pittsburg Intermediate School staff and students, and for the school being nominated as one of 26 schools in the State of Texas as a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School. The pep rally is a send off for the Pittsburg Intermediate administrators and staff attending the awards ceremony in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The Pep Rally will include Pittsburg Intermediate students, Pittsburg Junior High students, both Pirate Bands and cheerleaders, and PISD administrators and school board. The public is invited to attend the celebration. U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King, Jr., announced Wednesday, Sept. 28 that Pittsburg Intermediate School was named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School. Pittsburg Intermediate is one among 279 public and 50 private schools receiving this honor.
