Car recovered; two arrested

A 2006 Cadillac DTS was reported stolen at 6:50 a.m. Aug. 14. Not only was the car back in the possession of its owner by 6 p.m., but two people were in custody – one for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, another for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug. “Deputy Randy Huggins was dispatched to a residence on Highway 271 North in reference to the stolen vehicle where he spoke to the owner of the Cadillac,” Camp County Sheriff Alan McCandless said. “Kendra Elouis Sanchez had been at his house the night before, and when he woke up the next morning she, his keys and his car were gone.” At 4:13 that afternoon, Deputy Huggins, Deputy Rudy Ortiz and Department of Public Safety Trooper Anthony Ortez were advised the car had been seen on Highway 11 West. “They located the vehicle on County Road 2526; it was occupied by four people,” Sheriff McCandless said. “The driver was identified as Sanchez.
