One last thought
SERVICE

I won’t attempt to name them, but nearly every week we read in the newspaper about a fundraiser or a generous gi to an organization. And of course, many gi s are given without any recognition. I would like to thank Camp County citizens for stepping up to the plate. I want to focus on three service clubs in our small county. We have three very active international organizations in Pittsburg which are Kiwanis International, Lions International and Rotary International. Most small cities are fortunate to be able to support one or maybe two of these. I know that sometimes people think organizations with international in their name send money to other countries and ignore what is happening in their own town. ese organizations do help all over the world, but I would also like to highlight what they do for Camp County. e Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World,” the Lions motto is “We Serve” and the Rotary motto is “Service Above Self.” The key word in all three mottos sums up what these organizations are about – Service.
