Drugs, child endangerment investigation is ongoing

Camp County Sheriff ’s Deputies Randy Huggins and Brayden Hooper were dispatched to a criminal trespass on County Road 4248 on May 7. That call quickly became a drug and child endangerment investigation. “They were notified about 10:25 that night, when a complainant called to report someone was on his property that he had placed a criminal trespass on the month before,” Camp County Sheriff Alan McCandless said. “The deputies split up and began interviewing witnesses at two houses. Deputy Hooper observed two canvas-style black tents in one of the homes. He believed the tents to be used for the growth of marijuana. He also observed a rifle laying on the back of a pickup which was taken for officers’ safety.”
