Putting out fires at Pittsburg ISD

Mark Davis, left, and Fire Chief Carl Cravey (not pictured) gave safety demonstrations at the Pittsburg Independent School District’s central administration building, showing school administrators and office staff how to properly use a fire extinguisher and the procedures should a fire occur on campus. Helen Ray, the high school secretary, pictured on the right, was the first volunteer to use the fire extinguisher. The staff were taught the R.A.C.E. acronym: Rescue anyone near the fire; Alert the proper authorities; Contain the fire; and Extinguish the fire/Evacuate the building.
