Golf Coach Kenneth Shelton reports that the Pittsburg Pirate golf team has won the Lake Fork golf tournament. The tournament was held at the Lake Fork Golf Club in Emory. The course is located on the west bank of the lake. The course is a par 72, 6,017 yard course with water hazards and over 2500 trees. The longest shot from the pro tee is number four, a par five, at 570 yards. Coach Shelton reported the course was very wet, but the greens were in great condition. “It was a little windy 15mph or so and a little cold that morning warming up to high 60’s late in the afternoon. We started at 9:00 am and finished at around 3:30 pm. I didn’t get to count how many teams there were but they placed 10,” Coach Shelton said.
