• The Dr. P.A. Reitz, Man of the Year Awardwas presented to the Rev. Kyle Smith, and Rhoda Bicknell took home the Drusilla Pruett, Woman of the Year Award. Others receiving honors were Guy De Luna, Volunteer of the Year; Troy Hemmingsen, the Aubrey E. PilgrimMemorial Award; and Jason Steele, Educator of the Year. Business of the Year went to Nickco Recycling. Awards were also presented to the families of Sonny Smith and Lynn Whitehead: “for the lives that were touched and the love that was given. The awards were presented at the annual Camp County Chamber of Commerce banquet.

• John Holman was honored at the annual meeting of the Pittsburg/ Camp County MuseumAssociation meeting Friday night. Mr. Holman was the recipient of the first John Holman Museum Award. A marble bench was made and delivered to the Depot Museum by Camp County Monument Co. Mr. Holman’s name is engraved into the bench.

• Lady Pirates have earn a spot in the playoffs.
