Pittsburg schools earn high marks with zero dropout rates

The regular Pittsburg School Boardmeeting on Jan. 11, was School Board appreciation night and a group of Pittsburg school administrators and teachers presented each member gi s from each school. Athletic Director and Head Coach Brad Baca’s contract was renewed and a report was made concerning the construction delays due to the weather. emost important report was delivered by Beth Anne Dunavant, deputy superintendent. Mrs. Dunavant’s report is required by law, however; she said she want to explain the report; the report re ects the nal 2015 State accountability ratings by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the schools in Texas. For the 2014-2015 school year the Pittsburg Schools score better than the state or the other Region 8 schools. In the following categories Pittsburg’s scores are: reading – 84 percent; math – 90 percent; science – 90 percent; social studies – 80 percent; writing – 84 percent; however best of all was the drop-out rate which is the best in the State with zero percent. “ at is ‘zero’ percent drop-out percentage,” she said.
