Where are they now?

Full name: George A. Toledo, M. D.

Date of birth: Oct 2, 1954

Connection to Pittsburg: Our family immigrated from Cuba shortly after the communist revolution in 1960. My father, who was chief of surgery at Havana General Hospital, was recruited to be the surgeon covering not only Pittsburg but also the Mt. Pleasant and Winnsboro hospitals. So that is how a Cuban family ended up in East Texas in 1963. We only lived in Pittsburg for one year before moving to Mount Pleasant, but that one year was very memorable as we made many life-long friends (Browns, Holmans, Cokers, Truitts, and many more). We lived in Pecan Grove and went to Saint William Laud Episcopal Church, even while living in Mount Pleasant for the ensuing 10 years.

Family: Married Carolyn Wagner from Highland Park 31 years ago, I still don’t know how I got so lucky. I have three great kids: Lauren 26, Jordan 24, Audrey 22 all single, out of college and working in Dallas. My mom and brother Victor live in Dallas and my sister Elsa lives in Chicago.
