Crack cocaine, ICE (methamphetamines) and marijuana were found when a search warrant was executed at the home of Eaulon Lee Griffin and Lila Janette Hughes on March 26. Both were arrested without incident and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, over 4 grams under 200 grams, and with possession of marijuana, over 4 ounces under 5 pounds.
“We executed the search warrant at 7:30 last Tuesday evening at their home on County Road 3211, just off of Farm-to-Market Road 1519,” Camp County Sheriff Alan McCandless said. “They were the only two subjects in the home. After they were identified, they were detained until the search warrant could be executed and completed.
“Approximately an ounce of crack cocaine, approximately 10 grams of ICE and approximately a pound of marijuana were confiscated, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.”
Sheriff McCandless said street value of the drugs is between $3,000 and $3,500.
Assisting Sheriff McCandless and Investigator Randal Lain with the execution of the search warrant were Deputies Andrew Pack and Jimmy Coleman, Police Chief Richard Penn and Sgt. Paul Gordon, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Michael Sparks and Troopers Robbie Moore and Drew Nipp.
The possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver charge is a first degree felony. If convicted, Mr. Griffin, 49, and Ms. Hughes, 40, could face a sentence of life or 5 to 99 years in prison with an optional fine not to exceed $10,000. Possession of marijuana is a state jail felony, which carries a potential sentence of between 180 days to two years in state jail with an optional fine not to exceed $10,000.
Mr. Griffin and Ms. Hughes’ bonds were set at $55,000 each.
